Job description

Carrington West are assisting their local authority client based in The Midlands in their search for a Planning Officer to join their Development Management team. This will be offered on a 3-month initial contract (Extensions likely); you will be responsible to deal with a mixed caseload with site visits expected once a fortnight. See the following:
 
Duties to be undertaken would include but are not limited to:
·Minor to Major applications up to 30 dwellings
·Backlog applications
·Compile delegated reports to be signed by the Planning Development Manager
·Compile committee reports and present to the Planning Committee
·Undertake associated work for new planning applications
·Correspond with members of the public and stakeholders
 
Person specification would need to include at least the following:
·Must be competent in dealing with a range of applications from Householders to Major Housing/Rural expansions
·At least 3 years post qualification of an RTPI accredited qualification
·Must be fully competent in the use of IDOX Uniform, Electronic Document Management System and Microsoft Office
 
We are looking for a qualified Town Planner with recent local authority planning experience and the ability to hit the ground running in picking up their own caseload.
