Transport Planner
Are you an ambitious Transport Planner looking to play a key role in establishing and growing a new regional office? This Transport Planner opportunity offers the chance to be a founding member of a Birmingham-based team, where you will directly influence project delivery, client relationships and the future growth of the office.
My client is a well-established, market-leading consultancy providing a comprehensive service across transport planning, S278/38 highways scheme design, drainage, environmental planning, implementation and operation. Working across the UK with a diverse client base, you will be exposed to a wide variety of challenging and rewarding projects.

In this Transport Planner role, you will be:
·Preparing Transport Assessments and Transport Statements.
·Producing Travel Plans and undertaking Travel Plan Coordination.
·Preparing and presenting technical data, drawings and supporting material.
·Undertaking junction capacity assessments using ARCADY, PICADY and LINSIG.
·Liaising with clients, contractors and local and national authorities.
·Ensuring all assigned tasks are delivered on time and within budget.
·Reviewing the quality and accuracy of work produced by junior team members.
·Working collaboratively within the team and proactively supporting junior staff in developing their technical knowledge.
·Supporting Team Leaders in delivering comprehensive highways and transport advice from preliminary feasibility through to detailed stages.
·Undertaking site appraisals and visits, designing surveys and contributing to written reports and presentations.
·Maintaining up-to-date electronic and paper project files.
·Playing an active role in growing and establishing the Birmingham office.
To succeed as a Transport Planner, you will bring:
·A degree in Transport Planning, Geography, Civil Engineering or a related subject.
·Experience working with UK Transport Planning standards and processes.
·Membership of the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation (MCIHT).
You will also demonstrate:
·Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office packages.
·Strong numeracy skills and confidence working with spreadsheets.
·Experience or understanding of ARCADY, PICADY and LINSIG.
·AutoCAD experience (desirable).
·Excellent analytical skills with the ability to clearly communicate complex findings.
·Strong written and verbal communication skills.
·Commercial awareness and sound problem-solving ability.
·The ability to manage your own workload effectively.
·A professional and approachable manner when dealing with colleagues and clients.
The salary for this Transport Planner position is £33,000 - £40,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
