CAD Technician
Are you a detail-driven CAD Technician looking to work on varied and technically interesting highway schemes across the UK? This CAD Technician opportunity offers the chance to develop your skills within a supportive consultancy environment while contributing to meaningful infrastructure projects.
My client is a well-established, market-leading transport and infrastructure consultancy providing a comprehensive service across transport planning, S278/38 highways scheme design, drainage, environmental planning, implementation and operation. Working with a diverse client base nationwide, you will be exposed to a wide range of engaging and technically challenging projects.
As a CAD Technician, you will be based in the Midlands office and will play a key role in supporting the delivery of highway schemes from feasibility through to construction. You will be assisting with the production of highway designs, including calculations, drawings and specifications, ensuring compliance with relevant local and national highway standards.
In this CAD Technician role, you will be:
·Assisting with the implementation of highway schemes through feasibility, design and construction stages.
·Preparing and producing detailed highway designs and drawings.
·Liaising with utility providers and other service companies to coordinate designs.
·Supporting the process of gaining technical approvals from the Local Highway Authority.
·Contributing to highway improvement schemes, new road layouts, streetscape enhancements and wider infrastructure projects.
·Designing and implementing highway solutions for private and public sector clients.
·Building collaborative relationships with stakeholders, external providers and agencies.
·Delivering assigned tasks to agreed budgets and programmes.
·Preparing reports, drawings, schedules, cost estimates and supporting documentation.
·Assisting senior team members with monthly programme and financial reporting.
To be successful in this CAD Technician position, you will demonstrate experience within a consultancy environment and the ability to deliver projects to deadlines and targets. You will bring:

·A valid UK driving licence.
Technically, you will have:
·Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office packages.
·Excellent working knowledge of AutoCAD.
·Working experience or understanding of ARCADY, PICADY and LINSIG.
