Planning Enforcement Officer / Consultant
Initial 3 Month Contract
Job Ref - 28885
Do you want to work for a highly motivated local authority planning team who consistently delivers a high level of service?
My client is requiring an experienced planning enforcement officer who can 'hit the ground running' and start as soon as possible.
·Make unaccompanied site visits, including those involving complex land use issues, immediately recognising breaches of planning control (including breaches of S106 Agreements, etc).
·Decide on expediency and course of action, liaising with the planning Enforcement Manager (and Planning Service Manager) where necessary.
·Write letters to contravenor and complainant, outlining Council's course of action.
·Be able to effectively enter into negotiations with the contravener to remedy an enforcement breach.
·Understand relevant Planning Legislation including a detailed knowledge of planning Permitted Development Rights.
·Write enforcement reports recommending service of a range of different types of enforcement notice, including where necessary notices under other Legislation including the Housing Acts (for Committee or under delegated powers).
They LPA can't guarantee full remote working if only due to the need to generate letters and serve enforcement notices which require office access. Additionally council policies are advising office access for staff at least two days per week so full remote working would appear to be contrary to current HR guidance on returning to the workplace.
Carrington West are willing to offer £40-43 per hour for this position.
