Pavement Engineer
 
Are you an experience Pavement Engineer looking for a new contract opportunity?
 
I am recruiting for Pavement Engineer to join a client in Birmingham. The Pavement Engineer will join a team responsible for Identifying Network Needs, Pavement Condition Surveys, developing Thin Surfacing Treatment proposals.
 
Assisting the Asset Manager in understanding the pavement needs of the network and organising all the technical investigations and surveys to deliver pavement maintenance assessments that culminates in pavement scheme treatments/recommendation.
 
The pavement engineer will
·Be part of a team that will identify a rolling programme of pavement schemes and value management of the same, possibly incorporating the design requirements.
·Work closely with the Asset Manager to identify opportunities to bring together pavement schemes with other assets for renewal.
·Prepare pavement testing programmes to assist design and investigations of premature failures - produce reports and recommendations.
 
The typical Skills/Experience as follows:
 
·Advanced knowledge and practical experience in Pavement Engineering and Materials.
·Significant experience of Value Managing pavement schemes.
·Advance knowledge of pavement condition surveys and site investigation surveys
·Working experience of Asset Management systems such as Confirm and UKPMS.
·Working experience of GIS.
·Knowledge of other highway assets and their association with pavement renewal. Improvement.  
·Project and programme management, with ability to use MS Project advantageous.
·Undertaking services within an engineering environment which may include (but are not limited to); scheme investigation, site and structure inspections, data collection and analysis, feasibility studies, preliminary and detailed design, preparation of tender documents.
