Job description
Job Title: NRSWA Manager
Location: London (Contract)
Job Purpose
We are working with a client in London to appoint an experienced NRSWA Manager on a contract basis.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the delivery, monitoring, and compliance of all street works activities in line with the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 (NRSWA) and associated regulations. This role ensures works carried out on the borough's highways are safe, efficient, and coordinated, while minimising disruption to the public and maintaining statutory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
·Manage and coordinate all street works activities under the NRSWA, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and council policies.
·Monitor and enforce permits, notices, and inspection regimes for utility companies and contractors working on the highway.
·Develop, implement, and maintain robust processes for street works inspection, reporting, and performance management.
·Lead, supervise, and develop a team of street works inspectors and administrative staff.
·Liaise with internal departments, external contractors, utility companies, and the public to coordinate works and resolve issues.
·Prepare reports, performance data, and recommendations for senior management on street works activities, compliance, and improvement plans.
·Ensure timely resolution of defects, reinstatement issues, and enforcement actions.
·Contribute to the development of policies, strategies, and improvement plans for highway management and street works.
·Keep up-to-date with legislative changes, industry best practices, and technological advancements related to street works and highways management
