Mechanical Fitters & Pipe fitters
80% Site based and 20 % workshop based
Salary: Circa £30,000 base salary based on a 40 hour week + Overtime at X1.5 or X2 with an projected earning of £36,500 upwards ( based on overtime hours)
Overtime: Available and engineers typically work 45-50 hours per week
Start date: Immediate
Employment: Permanent
Location: Bedford - Engineers can be based within 1 hours commute
 
Our client are a specialist contractor within the water industry.  They are currently looking for mechanical fitters to support them on a number of water Utility Frameworks such as Anglian Water, Thames Water and Wessex Water.
 
In this role you will be working as part of an experience engineering team that consists of welder fabricators, mechanical installation engineers, mechanical fitters, pipe fitters and mechanical supervisors.
 
Deliverables:
·You will be undertaking mechanical site based installation work attached to water treatment and pumping station which will also include pipe fitting.  Typically you will be installing certain project ranges such as filter, screens, pumps, plant equipment as well as larger packages of work
·You will typically be based on site but will be required to carry out workshop based activities as well
 
Skills & Qualifications ( Advantageous and not essential )
·CSCS card
·EUSR national Water hygiene card
·Thames Water passport
·Slinger & Signaller CPCS
·Full UK driving license - A company van can be provided
 
Please note this role would suit a mechanical fitter who has not operated in the water sector before and any industrial setting such as manufacturing, fabrication workshops or similar engineering environments would be suitable.
