Management Accountant required for multi-award winning national engineering firm to be based out of their Salford offices on a long term contract basis.
 
Initially the contract will last 7 months, with an option for a longer term permanent position in the business too.
 
As the successful Financial contractor you will work with the contract management team to prepare monthly management accounts and timely management information to support decision making and drive contract efficiencies.
 
Experience with Highways contracts, schemes and works would be ideal here you will be liaising with both operational and commercial teams.
 
A key member of the wider finance team you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with accounting standards and policies, liaising closely with Finance colleagues across the Highways business and the wider group
 
Objectives
 
·Providing strategic financial information and leadership at contract level.
·Supporting the contract management team in driving contract efficiencies.
·Providing comprehensive, high quality analysis to aid and support business decision making
·Ensuring appropriate systems of internal control are maintained and development of and adherence to company procedures.
·Supporting the contract management team in the production of monthly management accounts and other financial information to deadlines.
 
Activities
 
·Preparation of management accounts through to trial balance for the contract(s).
·Preparation of monthly profit and loss account, balance sheet and cash flow for the contract(s).
·Variance analysis of contract results for the Management Board.
·Ownership and reconciliation of contract Project Bank Account; ensure operated within terms of contract
·Support contract quarterly forecasting process.
