Opportunity to work with a well-known Energy contractor on District Heating network projects throughout the UK!

My client delivers construction projects across multi utility disciplines. As a M&E Project Manager (District Heating), you'll take responsibility for the management and delivery of the adoption process from initiation of construction until handover to the Assets team.

You will be working in collaboration with all stakeholders including internal and external delivery partners on distributed energy systems, primarily heat networks. During construction, periodic site visits will be required to check/scrutinise installation to ensure it's compliant with design specifications and business adoption processes.

You'll manage project lifecycle objectives associated with safety, budget, specification, quality and time - working with the wider team on the preparation of contracts and any associated/ required amendments.

This role can be based anywhere in the UK on a remote basis and requires ability to travel to sites around the UK as necessary.

Other key responsibilities

  • Accurate reporting throughout the lifecycle of the projects within your remit.
  • Sufficiently manage practical engineering & technical queries in collaboration with the Technical Managers / wider Energy Solutions team.
  • Lead and manage various project meetings.


Experience Required

  • Mechanical and Electrical Project Management experience in a construction environment, with knowledge of district heating/cooling networks and associated systems.
  • Ability to understand critical success factors and project KPI's such as safety, performance, schedules and the importance of project reporting.
  • Understanding of various contracts such as Energy Services Agreement (ESCo) to determine what's been agreed and the responsibilities of all parties.
  • Knowledge of CIBSE CP1 - Heat Networks Code of Practice, and metering.
  • Ability to communicate with a range of internal and external stakeholders, making sure technical information is presented accurately and effectively.
