Lifting and fuel handling Commissioning engineer
 
Location: Hinkley Point (Flexible working arrangements available)
 
Salary: £60k to £70k (based on experience, negotiable)
 
My client is looking for a Lifting and fuel handling commissioning engineer who has experience of Design, Manufacturing, Inspection, Installation, Commissioning of Nuclear lifting and fuel handling equipment.
 
Responsibilities include:
 
·Accountable to a Senior Commissioning engineer in the NNB HPC Project team
·Coaching suppliers in the production of commissioning documentation relating to commissioning testing and system validation activities.
·Contribute to design reviews to ensure installation and layout of plant items and systems are in a manner that allows ease of commissioning.
·Contribute to detailed planning of commissioning and take ownership of a programme of commissioning tests.
·Take part in the execution of site commissioning activities, including supervision of contractor commissioning personnel to achieve successful and safe commissioning of HPC systems.
·Provide safety leadership in the execution of tests, ensuring that company process and best practice is followed for industrial safety.
·Analyse commissioning results and guide the production of reports summarising the outcome of commissioning.
·Ensure that the commissioning activities from conception, execution and reporting, demonstrate compliance with the functional and performance requirements for the equipment.
 
Skills and experience:
 
·Strong technical background in lifting and handling equipment.
·Hands-on experience on lifting and handling equipment.
·Demonstrable history of working within safety and quality cultures.
·Good communication skills and the ability to convey complex information to others.
·Strong problem-solving skills.
