Job description

What we need:
We have a great opportunity for a Materials Testing Manager to lead a materials testing laboratory in the South West (near Ilchester). The Lab will be testing solids and highways construction materials on behalf of a major contractor working in the area. The business are a leading provider of testing, inspection and compliance services for Highways and Construction work.

What you will do:
Your responsibilities will include: -
·Ensuring the smooth and efficient running of a high-profile materials testing laboratory
·Managing laboratory and site technicians ensuring work is carried out in the correct manner.
·Reporting back to the client regarding the progress of work and reporting on any delays

What you will need to succeed:
·Excellent Communication Skills - Verbal, Written and Presentation
·Strong Influencing Skills
·Change Management Experience
·Training experience - identifying training needs, and learning styles, and assessing competency
·Excellent knowledge of British and European Standards in a UKAS accredited laboratory capacity, specifically related to concrete, soils, aggregate and bitumen
·Good working knowledge of highways and concrete coring
·Organised, flexible and committed
A full driving licence is essential. Our ideal candidate will have experience of construction materials testing, and ideally hold a CSCS card.
