Junior CAD Technician
Are you a Junior CAD Technician looking to develop your technical skills on real development projects across the UK? My client is an independent transport planning and civil engineering consultancy providing specialist services in transport planning, highway infrastructure design, drainage engineering and flood risk management for development projects across the UK.
Working closely with developers, architects and local authorities, the consultancy supports projects from early feasibility through to detailed design and delivery. Their teams operate across multiple UK offices and collaborate on projects spanning residential communities, logistics developments, retail sites, healthcare facilities and education projects.

As a Junior CAD Technician, you will support the design team in producing accurate drawings and technical information for highways and infrastructure projects.
You will be doing:
·Producing CAD drawings for highways, access roads and development infrastructure
·Assisting with highway design layouts and technical drawings for planning submissions
·Supporting engineers with the preparation of technical plans and design packages
·Updating and revising drawings throughout project stages
·Ensuring drawings comply with relevant design standards and project specifications
·Collaborating with engineers, planners and other technical specialists within the team
·Organising drawing files and maintaining accurate project records
·Assisting with design documentation for planning and technical approvals
This Junior CAD Technician role offers strong mentoring and hands-on exposure to real engineering projects, allowing you to develop both technical and industry knowledge.
To succeed in this Junior CAD Technician position, you will ideally have:
·Experience using AutoCAD or similar CAD software
·A relevant qualification such as Civil Engineering, Engineering Design, CAD or a related discipline
·Basic understanding of highway or infrastructure design principles (desirable but not essential)
·Strong attention to detail and accuracy when producing drawings
·Good communication and teamwork skills
·A proactive attitude and willingness to learn from experienced engineers
·The ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines
