Highways/Bridge Site Supervisor urgently required in the Cardiff/Swansea area. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) which is deemed inside IR35.
 
The successful candidates will support our client on a number of exciting, high-profile projects and frameworks. The Site Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring the works are being undertaken to the approved design and specification, escalating issues to the design teams and verifying works done on site for record purposes. You will have a background in civil engineering, and an interest in the delivery of multi-disciplinary projects within the highway environment.
 
Qualifications
 
BEng / MEng or MSc degree in civil engineering or equivalent (advantageous)
 
Expected Criteria
 
The role will be varied, requiring a balance of relevant industry experience, technical ability, communication and stakeholder management skills. Expected criteria are:
 
Ability to supervise work being undertaken, to ensure it is being undertaken by others to the approved design and specification, and within agreed programme and budget constraints
 
Ability and confidence to raise immediately all safety and quality concerns with Contractor staff, stop works where necessary and escalate issues to Design Office and Client when required
 
Ability to record all work completed on site and resources/materials utilised - in order to allow future Contractor Applications to be signed off as reflecting work undertaken on site
 
Experience of working with key clients such as major Contractors, Local Authorities and/or Highways England
 
Good awareness of relevant design standards (e.g. DMRB, TSRGD, MCHW, Eurocodes and those of Highways England)
 
Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes, particularly Word and Excel
 
Sound interpersonal skills and ability to converse with a wide range of colleagues across a number of engineering disciplines
 
Excellent spoken and written English
