Highway Structures Quantity Surveyor
 
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join a local authority in the Midlands. In this role you will support the Commercial Manager with the commercial reconciliation of the Council's Structures Capital Programme consisting of a number of major projects totalling approximately £10m per year.
 
Some of the key duties you will be responsible for:
 
·To provide assistance to the Commercial Manager in the reconciliation of the Structures Capital Programme to budget.
 
·Provide technical expertise, advice and support to internal and external colleagues with regard highway capital programme commercial matters.
 
·Interim assessments of the amount due in applications for payment and the subsequent change management.
 
·Production and issue of all commercial notices, to the Contractor, as required by the form of contract including the assessment of Compensation Event Quotations.
 
 
This position is perfect for someone with a working knowledge of NEC4 form of contracts with the flexibility to adapt to bespoke contracts if necessary. The ideal candidate would have 3 to 5 years working within the civil engineering sector, preferably on roads and highways either for the client or main contractor.
