Position: Site Engineer - Permanent  
Division: Highways Civil Engineering  
Location: Reading  
Salary: Up to £40,000
My client is seeking an experienced Site Engineer to provide essential engineering support to the Section Engineer and Site Management team for a highways project in Reading. The ideal candidate will demonstrate prior experience in a similar role within a main contractor environment, with a solid background in Highways Site Engineering.

Key Responsibilities:  
- Undertakes Surveying and Setting Out duties.
- Checks drawings and quantities to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Schedules selected materials for ordering through collaboration with the procurement department.
- Efficiently plans and organizes site operations to meet agreed deadlines.
- Liaises with consultants and subcontractors engaged in the project as necessary.
- Supervises and monitors the site labour force, as well as the work of subcontractors.
- Ensures strict adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements.
- Maintains quality records necessary to meet project requirements.
- Proactively resolves unexpected technical difficulties and other project-related issues.
Qualifications and Experience:  
- Proven experience in a similar Site Engineer role, ideally within a main contractor environment.
- Highways experience with structures is essential.
- Possession of a valid CSCS card.
- SSSTS and temporary works tickets are beneficial.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Proactive approach to health, safety, and environmental compliance.
