We are currently looking for a Highways Engineer to join one of the fastest growing consultancies in the UK. The role will offer flexible working and the ability to work remotely when needed.
 
As a Highway Engineer, you will join a vibrant team and work on major prestigious projects within Kent and across the UK.
 
The role
·Supporting the delivery of highways design and civil engineering support for a range of highways & traffic related design projects.
·Provide support and project related task management for junior staff and to undertake technical tasks assigned by project managers and senior managers
·To have financial and commercial awareness of project delivery to ensure tasks are delivered within fixed time limits and to a high standard of quality.
·The role requires knowledge of highways and traffic engineering and the ability to assist to develop schemes from inception through to completion.
·Day to day supervision and management of junior staff and assistant engineers, along with co-ordination of project delivery where other design teams or service areas are involved.
 
The ideal candidate
·Degree or equivalent
·Experience within Highways and or Traffic (ideally minimum of 3 years).
·Working towards professional membership ICE/CIHT.
·Technical knowledge of highways & traffic engineering (Major projects / local roads schemes).
·Experienced in AutoCAD.
·Working knowledge of Civils 3D.
·Awareness of CDM & knowledge of H&S within a project and team.
·Working knowledge of MS Project.
·Experience in report writing and presentations.
·Experience in Outline & Detailed design schemes.
·Experience in supporting junior members such as CAD Technicians & Graduates.
·Experience in managing tasks and delegating work to other team members.
