Role: Health, Safety and Wellbeing Technical Expert
Location: Coventry
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000

My client is looking for Health, Safety & Wellbeing Technical Expert is to ensure that Severn Trent Green Power (STGP) complies with all HS&W requirements and best practice.
In this position you will support the compny Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) vision that no-one gets hurt or made unwell by what we do. You will work in partnership with managers and teams to deliver pragmatic and simple solutions that enable operational excellence and outstanding customer service, safely.
In addition, the role will involve supporting the development, implementation and maintenance of the STGP HS&W Strategy and Integrated Management System (IMS) alongside the responsibility for compliance with ISO45001
 
Responsibilities include:
·Proactively promote the companys Health and Safety culture and ensure compliance in line with company policies, STGP management system, the business strategy and industry best practice.
·Support development and implementation of STGP Health, Safety and Wellbeing strategy
·Lead on integration of the North and South operational region safety management systems
·Develop and maintain robust management systems and processes to ISO 45001 and establish monitoring processes to demonstrate compliance
·Deliver audits against ISO45001 requirements
·Monitor and interpret Health & Safety performance data and use to target areas of future improvement.
·Establish formal communication routes with Severn Trent Health and Safety and Wellbeing Team and ensure two-way communications.  In addition, proactively determine and implement timely communication with all staff, and contractors
·Assess HSW and security aspects relating to operational sites; investment projects; staff; and contractors and determine and implement appropriate remedial / improvement actions
·Develop and maintain personal Health and Safety knowledge and demonstrate this through 'Continuous Professional Development'.
·Liaison with external agencies, stakeholders and other organisations to look at best practice, with the aim to bring great health and safety systems.
 
Skills and experience:
·Experience of development, implementation and maintenance of the Safety Management Systems and Health and Safety Strategies
·NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent
·Ideally successful candidates will have proven HS&W experience across either waste management, process industries, construction or utilities
·Proven track record in instigation, control and delivery of Health and Safety projects.
·Good understanding of Health and Safety legislation, Health and Safety theory and best practice.
·Practical experience of supporting Health and Safety within both operational and non-operational (i.e. Office) environments.
·Implementation of 'Behavioural Safety' systems within the workplace.
·Understanding of 'Occupational Health' and its implementation within the workplace.
·Good understanding of commercial Health and Safety needs and drivers.
