Head of Service - Highways and Transport

6-month contract (minimum)

£600 - £800 per day, negotiable - Inside IR35

Our client is an ambitious authority who are seeking an experienced Head of Service within their Growth and Development Team. This role is on a contract basis, initially for 6 months.

Key Responsibilities:
 
·Experience leading a multi-disciplinary team responsible for planning and transport related to major new developments.
·Extensive knowledge of the planning process and policy in relation to new developments, particularly the role of the County Council as Highway and Education Authority.
·Excellent interpersonal and communications skills with demonstrable ability to network. Proven experience in negotiate and influencing on significant developments.
·Able to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, both internal and external to the Council.
·Experience leading the negotiation of important development related projects to ensure effective delivery and funding of key infrastructure, particularly in relation to transport and education.
·Experience in developing and maintaining effective relationships with elected members, other officers and key stakeholders.
·Experience of generating economic growth and able to advise on Covid recover in this area.
 
What is required?
 
·As the successful candidate, you will have senior management experience within a local authority, particularly in Transport.
 
·You will have great stakeholder management skills.
