What will you do?
The Head of Corporate Landlord and Capital Projects will ensure that the Council's corporate estate of operational buildings is managed to be safe for occupiers and visitors, minimise any adverse impacts on the environment, are located and configured to maximise their benefit to residents, and are financially efficient.
 
This will require oversight of day-to-day facilities management, the programming and execution of capital projects, and the planning and delivery of future property needs.  You will also have overall responsibility for reporting performance against targets and making recommendations through the Council's governance, procurement and decision-making process.
 
Job Summary
 
The role encompasses responsibility for:
-Corporate building and facilities management, maintenance, and compliance
-Energy management and efficiency
-Corporate estate management planning
-Capital programme and project management (corporate and schools)
-Technical services, surveying, and design
 
What do you need?  
To be successful in your application for this role you will need to demonstrate the following on application and through the interview process:  
·UK Resident
·MRICS in Building Surveying
·Minimum 3 years' significant understanding of the workings of local government and the challenges of the financial, legal and political context of local government.
·The ability to set the strategic direction for Capital Delivery and the Corporate Estate, drawing up an overarching strategy for the service and the necessary supporting plans for delivery.
