Job description

We are working with a well-established water and infrastructure consultancy looking to strengthen their team with an experienced Flood Modeller.
 
This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of complex flood risk and hydraulic modelling projects while working alongside a highly experienced technical team. You will play a key role in delivering sustainable development solutions across a range of UK infrastructure and development schemes.
 
This is a 6 month initial contract role that falls OUTSIDE IR35. Out client is based in London and open to remote workers.
 
Key responsibilities
 
·Deliver hydraulic modelling and flood risk projects from concept through to construction
·Build, run and interpret river and surface water models using Flood Modeller, TUFLOW and InfoWorks ICM
·Produce and review Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategies
·Develop concept and detailed designs for flood protection and surface water management schemes
·Provide technical advice to clients and attend project meetings
·Support and mentor junior engineers and modellers
·Assist with fee proposals and review technical outputs
·Manage multiple projects while maintaining technical and commercial standards


About you
 
·Degree in Civil Engineering or a relevant scientific discipline
·Approximately 5-8 years' experience in hydraulic modelling, flood risk or drainage
·Strong experience using Flood Modeller, TUFLOW and InfoWorks ICM
·Experience preparing Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategies
·Good understanding of UK policy and guidance including NPPF, FWMA 2010 and WIA 1991
·Confident communicator with experience working directly with clients


Desirable experience
 
·Sewer design using WinDES, InfoDrain or Flow
·Knowledge of S104 agreements
