Field Device Expert

Location: Kent / Sussex
Annual Salary: Up to £25,000 dependant on experience
Type: Permanent, Monday to Friday, 42.5 hours
Other: Company pension and life assurance

Carrington West are pleased to offer an exciting new opportunity with one of our clients, , a forward-thinking Utilities contractor delivering a wide range of services across the South of England and supporting the Southern Water framework.

They are currently looking for a Field Device Expert who will be responsible for supporting and training all operational teams in using field devices and ensuring that there is operational continuity across these devices.

Responsibilities:

• Liaise with internal and client IT departments
• Maintain accurate records of field devices
• System administration for field device management software
• Assist testing of field device enhancements
• Main point of contact for field user support
• Initial fault diagnostics
• General user training and support for field users
• Field device setup
• Identify opportunities to improve IT systems and business processes
• Support regular audit of system use and deliver training schedules to field staff on IT systems use
• Ensure staff are aware of network and system protocol and are informed of changes as appropriate
• Ensure field device H&S requirements are complied with

• Can communicate in a clear, professional and effective manner
• Able to quickly and accurately assess situations and prioritise effectively
• Be highly motivated, manage your own workload and meet deadlines while working under pressure in a fast paced, dynamic environment
• Be flexible, adaptable and a natural team player
• A natural ability to pick up new IT concepts quickly
• Excellent I.T. skills including MS Word, Excel and Outlook
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Strong administration skills
• Hold a clean UK driving licence
