Role: Estimating & Design Engineer - Water Projects

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000

Are you a Estimating & Design Engineer with experience in the water industry looking for your next challenge?
In this role you will be responsible for delivering specialist projects within the water industry undertaking the estimation of a variety of electrical, instrumentation, mechanical and ICA schemes
 
Responsibilities include:
·Set up and develop an Estimation department within ME&I
·Create and then comply fully with company tendering procedures
·Read and fully understand client specifications and drawings
·Understand documentation required for formal submissions
·Prepare material, labour, plant and subcontractor cost analysis
·Prepare quotations to the required standard
·Responsible for producing priced tenders that are accurate, detailed, and concise
·Organise and partake in bid initiation, technical and commercial review meetings as needed.
·Consider site safety, health, and environmental issues
·Co-ordinate and liaise with suppliers, specialist sub-contractors and 'in-house' resources
·Compile and collate documentation, schedules, and data sheets etc. for inclusion into final formal proposal submissions
·Prepare Job material lists
·Ensure detailed handover to assigned PM
·Routine chasing of Outstanding quotations
·Assist others in selection of materials and sub-contractors when required to do so and propose alternative materials or methods
·Reviewing supplied tender documentation including drawings, details, and specifications
·Constructing a logical and consistent price/offer using spreadsheet models and success to failure ratio
·Assist on the Monthly budget and reviews with senior management on Estimating pipeline
·Managing the day-to-day activities of the ME&I estimating department in line with other department, System Integration, and Telemetry as required
 
Skills and experience:
·Surveying and quoting/estimating experience  
·Industrial electrical experience and qualification is essential.
·Water Industry experience is essential.  
·Mechanical and civil experience is desirable.
