Job Advert: Engineer (Highways Electrical)
 
Salary: £40,000-£44,000 + company van
 
We are currently seeking an Engineer (Electrical) to join our team. Reporting to the Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for providing Electric Vehicle Charging Point design and installation compliance checks, as well as checks on other electrical equipment within the Highway, specifically in the County of Hertfordshire.
 
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
 
·Regarding new and existing Electrical Vehicle Charging Points.
·Provide design review and checking services for external and internal clients.
·Monitor the progress of electrical installations to ensure compliance with HCC guidance.
·Conduct on-site checks and assessments within Hertfordshire.
·Liaise with Boroughs, Districts, and their Contractors to assist in resolving issues identified during site assessments.
·Willingly perform any reasonable task requested by management.
 
Measures of Success:
 
·Provide progress feedback on works to Managers.
·Ensure quality of work meets clients' required standards.
·Update the Confirm database as necessary.
·Ensure work is compliant with relevant standards, policies, and regulations.

·Maintain a professional and tidy appearance.
·Demonstrate a courteous and prompt telephone manner.
·Fulfill promises within agreed deadlines.

Person Specification:
Education:
 
·ONC Electrical and Electronic Engineering or equivalent, or
·City and Guilds 2391, or
·Other relevant electrical qualifications (Desirable)
Experience:
 
·Background in electrical or Electric Vehicle Charging Point (EVCP) installations.
·Good understanding of EVCP installation requirements (Desirable)
 
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies:
 
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Strong team player.
Flexible in terms of working hours and attitude.
Effective communication skills.
Good telephone manner.
Excellent time management skills.
PC literacy.
Strong organizational skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
