Job description
My client in the South East of England, is seeking an experienced Ecologist to work with the Town Planning Department on an initial 3 month contract.
Duties Include:
·Undertaking Biodiversity Net Gain assessments
·Providing specialist technical advice to Local Authorities on ecology, biodiversity, nature conservation and Habitats.
·Advise on the impact of new developments on biodiversity, ecology and nature conservation resources on behalf of Local Authority.
·Be responsible for, co-ordinate and deliver development management casework for ecology including Three Test Assessments for European Protected Species.
·Experience in survey and mitigation for habitats and species, and in ecological impact assessment, consultation, project design and management.
Requirements:
·A degree in biology/ecology or directly related subject. An additional higher degree would be an advantage
·Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management or equivalent.
·Experience in advising Local Planning Authorities on the impact of new developments on biodiversity.
·Experience in the UK ecological consultancy market with a strong client facing approach.
·Personal conservation licence for/working towards at least one protected species.
This role can be worked on a hybrid basis - Part time and Full time applicants both invited.
