Role: Drainage Engineer
Location: Lincoln
Salary: £38,000
Start Date: ASAP
 
My client is looking for a Drainage Engineer to join their busy team, much of the work will be office based and several locations are available. The successful candidate would also have the ability to work from home for up to three days a week, following completion of a training program.
 
You will be responsible for ensuring that all new adoptable sewerage assets are designed in accordance with National Guidance (Design Construction Guidance) and company standards. Where there is a requirement to deliver a new sewer by requisition, you will communicate closely with all relevant stakeholders in accordance with the companies Code of Practice. You will also be responsible for ensuring that the existing sewerage infrastructure is protected by assessing the suitability of applications to divert the public sewerage system.

Building and maintaining customer relationships to consistently deliver excellent customer service will be a key responsibility of this role. You will be required to provide technical knowledge and guidance to internal and external customers, support innovative and sustainable solutions for drainage designs whilst keeping up-to-date with latest technology and products within the market.
 
Candidates can be based in the following locations: Colchester, Huntingdon, Lincoln, Northampton or Peterborough.
 
Skills and experience:
·You will ideally have experience of similar role within another Water Company or experience of working on the design of sewerage infrastructure. Knowledge of Sewers for Adoption/Design Construction Guidance, Sewerage Law and Health and Safety Legislation would also be beneficial.
·You'll need to be an excellent team player with a strong customer focus who is able to act on your own initiative with good planning and organisational abilities.
·You'll also have excellent communication (written and oral) and decision making skills.
·You must be flexible in your approach to work and be able to adapt and challenge as well as managing a demanding and conflicting workload.
·With excellent numeracy / literacy skills you will also have the ability to understand new legislation and provide an effective service whilst balancing the needs of our customers alongside those of the business.
