Job description

Carrington West are assisting their local authority client based in East Anglia in the search of a Planning officer to join their Development Management team on an initial 3 month contract (Then rolling). This post will be remote based, with little to no site visits needed.

The post holder will be part of a small team and will deal with a range of applications including a range of small scale industrial sites (Schools, Fire Stations, Libraries), mineral extraction and waste management developments.
 
Responsibilities will include:
·To take responsibility for planning projects from conception to conclusion.
·To prepare evidence for the Council for planning appeals and court hearings.
·To act for the Council as an expert planning witness in planning appeals and court hearings.
(This is not an extensive list of responsibilities and you may be asked to undertake roles outside of those specified above)
 
The post holder must have a Degree or postgraduate diploma in town and country planning or relevant subject such as geography, environmental science, sustainability or geology; and have an in depth knowledge of the planning system in the UK including minerals & waste.
 
The council are looking for candidates who will be able to hit the ground running and must have at least 3 years planning experience.
 

Carrington West Pay Rate - £30 to £33 per/hour
