Deputy Team Leader - Development Management

Do you want to work for a highly motivated local authority planning team who consistently delivers a high level of service?
 
You will be mainly working from home, with the exception of site visits and key meetings. The office location can be discussed upon application to the role.
You will be required to work both individually and as part of a team to continue the high level of service that the local authority operate to currently. You will be managing a mixed caseload of applications so must be comfortable with this variety.
 
To be successful in this position you MUST HAVE:
·Access to your own vehicle or a valid UK driving license (for travel to and from the office and for site visits)
·Be comfortable working from home and using Microsoft Teams/Zoom
·Please note this role would suit an experienced Principal Officer looking to make the step up to Team Leader looking for more responsibility.
Role & Responsibilities:
·Evaluating and negotiating on own caseload of applications, writing reports and making recommendations
·Taking decisions on relatively straight forward planning applications in accordance with the adopted scheme of delegation
·Monitoring and guiding planning case officers on their casework (including major planning applications)
·Presenting a range of planning applications types to Planning Committee (including large scale major planning applications)
 
On offer is an hourly rate of up to £50-£52p/h depending on experience.
