Contract Manager - Highways/Civils - Merseyside

My client are a significant force within the North West construction industry, who offer a wide range of highway infrastructure and civil engineering specialities predominantly for Local Authority.

Through a combination of skills and experience, they undertake complex, intricate and technically demanding projects with a dedicated customer liaison team who can manage expectations and communication.


The role:

I am now looking to appoint a Contracts Manager to oversee highways and civil engineering projects, in what is an exciting time to become a part of an ambitious and forward thinking company.

The ideal candidate will be existing Contracts Manager with relevant experience of initial design and inception, right through to completion - although up and coming engineers who can demonstrate relevant experience and knowledge who would like to flourish with a desire to be contract managers in the future will also be considered.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a company offering progression in a technically challenging role, with the chance to manage high-profile clients and projects in the region of £50k through to £1.5m.

 

Duties:

  • Responsible for setting & achieving performance and productivity targets
  • Proven track record in a leadership role
  • Good interpersonal skills for both internal and external relationships
  • Running projects, managing and developing teams
  • Create reports and track the performance across all delegated contracts
  • Review operational delivery and undertake site and performance audits
  • On-site management of people and other resources
  • Ensure high standards of health & safety are maintained
  • Manage and deliver variations of contract
  • Key Client relationship building
  • Manage contract finances & control costs of contract ensuring they are on target
  • Prepare & update Contract Review documents
  • Sub-contract management



The Candidate:

To achieve responsibilities of the role, you will have a minimum of five years' experience of managing individuals and teams of people, with the skill set to motivate gangs of operatives on site to achieve set targets.

You will have a strong background in the highways, civils and surfacing industry predominantly within Local Authority projects, who can demonstrate proven experience of management within an established civils/highways organisation..

The Contracts Manager will be responsible for delivering contracted highways projects ensuring high quality, targeted productivity and customer/client satisfaction.


Qualifications / Experience required:

  • SMSTS
  • NEC 3/4
  • IOSH
  • HNC / HND or degree in Civil Engineering
  • C.Eng/I.Eng (desirable)


Salary on offer is in the region of £35,000 - £40,000 per annum with a company vehicle, as well as other company benefits.
