Job Role - Site Construction Supervisor

Location - Dorset (5 Days a week)

Contract Length - Ongoing

Pay Rate - Negotiable

My client is working within the nuclear industry, working on a first of its kind project. They are looking to speak with candidates that have vast experience in HEAVY civils and highly regulated backgrounds e.g. nuclear, Pharmaceuticals, oil + gas.

Responsibilities:

  • Working closely with the Area Construction Manager and on site EHS Manager, you will promote a safe working environment for all personnel
  • You will ensure all rules and agreed RAMS are being followed completely, present site inductions, safety briefings and toolbox talks
  • You will assist in hazard identification and with regular inspections supporting, reporting and communicating H&S issues.
  • Liaising with the clients other site management to ensure work detail requirements are fully understood you will promote adherence to the clients construction processes/procedures to support consistency and quality of all construction activities Identifying potential improvements with accurate Record keeping (deliveries, hours worked etc.)
  • The work will involve supervision of activities including micro piling, steelwork install including existing slab reinforcing/propping, concrete cutting using diamond wire saws, concrete pouring, scaffolding with temporary works and steel flooring install.
  • The site supervisor must have relevant experience in nuclear and construction sectors as well as H&S training, have a good understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental issues and experience of working in a highly regulated industry with a high degree of scrutiny.
  • You will have the ability to understand construction drawings and other construction documentation with a good understanding of EHSQ procedures typical of high profile construction environments using ISO procedures and/or best industry practice


Qualifications/Desirables:

  • You must have significant, relevant construction and supervisory experience,  a supervisory certification, CSCS Card holder (or equivalent scheme) and a relevant engineering or construction qualification - such as HNC or NVQ3
  • A relevant NEBOSH or similar EHSQ qualification.
  • The requirement will have to understand a basic level of technical information would suit a candidate with HNC level of education or higher in a relevant subject.
  • All CITB courses such as SMSTS, Temporary Works Co-ordinator, Lifting, Supervisory, Environmental (or NVQ equivalent) are advantageous.
  • 3-day First Aid and Fire Warden training.
