Class 2A/B Building Control Surveyor

Salary: £45,000 + Benefits
Capita are currently seeking a Class 2A/B Registered Building Inspector to join their Building Control team covering projects in and around Wigan. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a well-established national organisation delivering building control services across residential and commercial developments.
You will play a key role in supporting developers, contractors and design teams to ensure projects meet Building Regulations and compliance requirements, while helping to deliver safe and high-quality buildings.
The Role
As a Building Control Surveyor, you will manage a portfolio of building control applications across domestic and small to medium sized commercial developments. The role involves a combination of plan checking, site inspections and providing technical guidance throughout the construction process.
You will work closely with clients and project stakeholders, ensuring compliance with Building Regulations and supporting projects from initial design through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
·Carry out site inspections and assess building works for compliance with Building Regulations
·Undertake plan checking and review building control applications
·Provide technical advice to architects, developers and contractors
·Ensure all projects comply with statutory legislation and regulatory requirements
·Maintain accurate inspection records and technical reports
·Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients and stakeholders
Requirements
·Registered Building Inspector - Class 2A/B (or close to achieving registration)
·Experience working within Building Control in either the local authority or private sector
·Strong knowledge of Building Regulations and construction methods
·Excellent communication and client-facing skills
·Ability to manage multiple projects and workloads effectively
·Full UK driving licence
