Job description

Are you a carbon specialist with experience working on large infrastructure projects?
Would you like to work client side on a career defining project like HS2?
As a Carbon Specialist at HS2 you will be providing specialist technical support on whole life carbon management and reduction for all phases of the project. You will work in collaboration with the supply chain as well as HS2 colleagues to ensure project commitments relating to carbon emissions are delivered and timescales are met with value for money at the forefront of all decisions.
 
Location: Birmingham or London
 
Salary: Birmingham £36,300 - £52,152.50
London £39,250 - £56,465
 
Job Role:
This is a fantastic opportunity to work client side for HS2 and have massive input on helping them achieve their carbon emission targets.
This role will involve integrating large amounts of data to inform policy and decision for the HS2 project. Using carbon management and carbon accounting and best practice with the PAS2080 framework.
The role will involve undertaking assurance of tier 1 contractors and their carbon leads and subcontractors.
 
Requirements:
- Suitable qualifications to degree standard, experience and education to demonstrate a good understanding of carbon management and reduction principles
- Knowledge and understanding of the relevant legislation, technical guidance, industry standards and best practice in relation to carbon management and reduction.
- Memberships of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment and understanding of the relevant legislation, technical guidance, industry standards and best practice in relation to carbon management and reduction.
- Experience of implementing carbon management and reduction principles within complex and medium to high risk projects
- Experience of working in multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience of delivering successful outcomes with complex stakeholders
- Experience of working with subject matter experts relevant to the role, including contractors and consultants.
