Day to Day Building Surveyor
£30-40p/h (Umbrella Rate)
6-12 Month Contract
Are you a Building Surveyor experienced in public sector property, and looking for a long-term contract? 
If so, this Lancashire Local Authority opportunity could give you just that. 
What will you do? 
Within this role you will have a list of responsibilities which includes the following:  
·Carry out site inspections and investigations, as necessary to produce detailed specifications of works using the national schedule of rates and composite values.
·Prepare estimates, feasibility studies, plans, sketches and drawings as may be necessary. 
·Work independently and manage a variable caseload.  
·Be proficient in the correct diagnosis of building failures and to this end be competent in the use of devices, aids and instruments for the purpose of making assessments and diagnoses. 
·Manage reactive and planned maintenance projects & undertake quality assurance checks as and when required on repairs ordered and paid for by the Legal Repairs team. 
·Monitor and oversee works on site including start dates, works in progress, standards of workmanship, materials etc. Monitor and report any variances to agreed standards and recommend a corrective action. 
What do you need?  
To be successful in your application for this role you will need to demonstrate the following on application and through the interview process:  
·HND/C Building with demonstrable post qualification experience or BSc Building with post qualification experience.
·Ability to produce CAD drawing and prepare detailed specifications for the purpose of competitive tendering is essential.
