Job description

Are you looking to work for an award-winning company who focus on professional development and value their people? If so, you may be interested in the following exciting permanent opportunity to join a Civil's team in Bristol. The Associate will play a lead role in the team and will strengthen the services in this area.

This is an opportunity for a Civil Engineer who already has a strong technical and project management background, but also enjoys business development and relationship management.  This could suit an engineer who wishes to move from project delivery to a more sales, bids and marketing focused role or someone with a proven track record in business development. The role will be based in our Bristol office.

You will enjoy
·Working closely with our senior team to identify and manage suitable bid and tender opportunities, in existing and untapped clients and sectors
·Developing strategic relationships with clients to maximise growth and retention
·Developing your personal network to assist in business development and identify new business prospects
·Working with a diverse, friendly, committed, and enthusiastic team of graduates, engineers, and technicians
·A range of benefits including pension scheme, life assurance, shopping discounts, subsidised social events and option to purchase additional holidays.
·A blend of home and office working to allow for good work/life balance
·A competitive salary

Our requirements
·Proven track record of project delivery, significant technical and project management experience
·Extensive relevant company contacts in the field of civil engineering across various sectors
·Client relationship management, business development and communication skills
·Knowledge of industry software (Civils 3d, Site 3d, Micro drainage)
·Flexibility to attend events which are outside normal working hours on occasion
·Qualification such as BEng / CEng Civil Engineering and chartered membership of ICE is desirable but not essential

What is most important is motivation and drive to succeed and a desire to develop sales and relationship building skills. This is a unique role in a small organisation where you will have the opportunity to really make a difference to business strategy, growth, and retention.  You will build on the already strong portfolio, based on a 75-year history in Bristol and the South coast.

This role could be considered on a part-time or flexible basis.  The company want candidates to feel confident to ask about the flexibility they need.  Any candidate who applies for a job with us can ask us about the flexibility at interview.  In return, we'll explore what's possible.  Flexible working will vary depending on a number of factors including the role within the company, however, guiding principles are based on 60/40 split between office/home.
