Are you an experienced Asbestos Surveyor looking for your next contact?
 
If so, a fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Asbestos Surveyor to join a Local Authority in North East London.
 
Responsibilities
·You will be responsible for undertaking Management and Refurbishment / Demolition asbestos surveys in council owned and leased properties.
·To produce accurate and comprehensive survey reports, including clear floor plans, to agreed deadlines and service agreements.
·To provide clients with clear and concise information on risk and asbestos management recommendations.
·You will be responsible for undertaking re-inspection surveys and updating reports, in council owned and leased properties, and to make appropriate recommendations.
·You will be responsible for dealing with emergency situations, where necessary restricting access to possible contaminated areas, and specifying and organising any remedial works.
·Provide asbestos management advice, guidance, support and recommendations on Council managed construction projects, to ensure asbestos surveys and remediation works are appropriately and legally managed.
·Safe sampling of asbestos bulk samples, processing and sending these to an approved laboratory, for analysis. Safely disposing of asbestos waste.
·Update the asbestos database system, management files and reports to ensure information is accurate and current status is maintained.
·You will be responsible for undertaking audits and quality inspections of asbestos industry contractors and specialists.
·You will provide the Asbestos Manager with weekly work updates, and reports as requested. You will notify the Asbestos Manager of any complaints and commendations made by our clients and follow the appropriate internal procedures and HSE guidance.
 
What are the benefits?
·3 month rolling contract.
·£30-£40 per hour umbrella, inside IR35.
·35 hours per week.
 
What will you need?
·Qualified to undertake asbestos surveys and bulk sampling. Must hold BOHS P402 Building Surveys and Bulk Sampling (or equivalent).
·Minimum of 3 years' experience of asbestos surveying.
·Asbestos survey and removal project management experience.
·Experience of working with a Council or Housing Association.
