Role: Area Delivery Manager (Water)
Location: Lichfield
Salary: up to £48,000 p/a  plus package 


My client, who offers the market a unique end-to-end service ranging from needs assessment & solution definition, through design, manufacture, installation & commissioning, to aftercare and operation of water & wastewater treatment assets, they're seeking an individual to assist with project planning, development and delivery activities. The focus of the role will be on the delivery of chemical dosing systems, settlement tank scrapers and other products offered, as well as assisting with the delivery of specific contracts on occasions. The role will be centered on projects within the Severn Trent Water and United Utilities regions, but there will be a need to support other regions as required.
The role would suit a flexible, enthusiastic and organised individual with a strong work ethic and water industry experience. They will need to be self-motivated, a good communicator and willing to work in a small business environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • General Duties:

oSupporting Project Manager in the delivery of water and wastewater treatment projects to help ensure they a completed on time and within budget.
oCo-ordinating with site and office-based personnel working on each project.
oConducting site visits to plan, monitor and close out project delivery activities.
oLiaising with all personnel working on the project regarding all aspects of the contract.
oMaintaining a high standard of positive communication with our client site teams

  • Project Planning & Communications:

oPreparing health, safety, quality and environmental documents such as the Design Safety Plan, Construction Safety Plan, Quality Plan, Environmental Plan, Traffic Management Plan, Risk Assessments, Method Statements, Safety File, and O&M Manual, etc.
oTimeline planning of all installations from awarding of contract to completion and handover of all documentation.
oOrganising, planning and attending technical meetings with clients and consulting engineers.
oEnsuring all documentation for the project is current and saved within the project folder.

  • Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ):

oEnforcing safe work practices onsite and ensuring that policies and procedures are adhered to at all times during the installation.
oReporting accidents, incidents, dangerous occurrences and / or near misses to the Project Manager and Safety Manager.
oLiaising with internal safety officers and auditors during site inspections.
oAccommodating HSQE site inspections from the client or other external bodies.
oLiaising with the project manager and design personnel to ensure that health and safety is considered at every aspect of design and to ensure compliance with design specification.
oRecording and closing out non-conformances and ensuring that the corrective action, root cause and preventative / improvement actions are successfully identified.

  • Other Duties:

oAttend Contracts team meetings, in person or remotely.
oAssist in managing the regional office when other workers are away or on leave.
oMaintaining and nurturing customer relationships.
oProducing case studies of completed projects.
oOther duties as may arise from time to time that are consistent with the job-holder's knowledge and skills, and are needed to effectively perform the role.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Engineering or science degree, HND or equivalent
  • Minimum three years' experience in a project management or delivery management role within the utilities sector and/or M&E engineering
  • environment.
  • Experience within the UK water industry is a distinct advantage.
  • Able to demonstrate an ability to work on multiple projects or initiatives simultaneously.
  • Advanced MS Office skills with the ability to analyse and manipulate data sets.
  • Report writing skills.
  • Good communication skills, able to interact effectively with Clients and colleagues.
  • Strong analytical and interpretive skills, ability to deliver data in a user friendly and relevant manner.
  • Organisational skills with a commitment to the role and a keen eye for detail.
  • Willingness to travel nationwide (including overnight stays)
  • Full driving licence
