Job description

My client is currently looking for a Transport Planner to join their team based in Cambridge. The office is just a stroll across from Cambridge Station. This is a great opportunity to join their Transport team and be part of our ambitious plans for growth, being a key part of delivering projects at varying scales for a wide variety of clients, primarily in the East of England, but also further afield across the UK.
They are fortunate to work with an excellent range of clients and their approach to delivery provides them with a reputation as one of the leading development consultancies in the local market.
You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, covering major new settlements in the region, the expansion of enterprise zones, and community-based projects from concept through to commissioning and beyond.
On a day-to-day basis, you will be involved in all aspects of projects from inception to completion. You will play an important role in developing and influencing transport strategies while assisting with the preparation of Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans. Assisting junior members of the team will form part of your role, and it will be important to continue your own professional development through working collaboratively with others in the team.
This role will provide you with significant prospects for career progression and personal development, playing a key part in the delivery of high value quality services to influential clients. To support your work life balance, they can offer the flexibility of a balance between home and office working.
About You
The company brings imagination and determination to every challenge and your experience and understanding of the planning system and experience with Transport Assessments, Travel Planning, Junction modelling / analysis and experience of relevant software packages will be important. You will have experience working independently on projects supported by senior members of the team. You should be working towards professional qualification, for example Transport Planning Professional or PDS.
They approach every project as a partnership and to succeed in this role, you will be a positive and enthusiastic team member, and have a passion for transport planning. You will be degree qualified ideally in transportation/town planning, geography, civil engineering or a related field.
