Job description

Trainee Water Engineer - Clevedon
Location: Clevedon (must live within 30 minutes)
Salary: £25.400 per year (based on 40 hours/week)
Working hours: Monday to Friday (overtime available - Saturdays at time and a half, Sundays at double time)
Contract: Full-time, temp-to-perm (6-month period)

I'm working with a well-established and growing company in the water and drainage sector, and we're currently on the lookout for a Trainee Water Engineer to join the team in Clevedon.
This is a great opportunity for someone looking to get into a hands-on role with full training provided - no previous experience is necessary. All we ask is that you've got a full UK driving licence (no more than 5 points) and that you live within 30 minutes of Clevedon.

What's the role all about?

You'll be working as part of a small, friendly team - usually 2 or 3 of you - out on site, carrying out drainage inspections and supporting key water utility projects for companies like United Utilities, Anglian Water, Severn Trent, and others.

Some travel and overnight stays are part of the job (accommodation and expenses are covered), and there may be the occasional night shift - but you'll be well supported every step of the way.

What you'll be doing:

·Lifting and handling manhole covers
·Supporting your team and monitoring safety in confined spaces
·Helping with drainage surveys and water monitoring
·Working at height and in enclosed areas (with all PPE provided)
·Following instructions and learning from experienced crew leaders
Please note: a drug and alcohol test is required for this role as part of the on boarding process.

We're looking for someone who:
·Has a full UK driving licence (max 5 points)
·Lives within 30 minutes of Clevedon
·Is happy working outdoors in all weathers
·Is physically fit and capable of manual work
·Need to be flexible with hours, including the occasional weekend or night shift
·Enjoys being part of a team and wants to learn a practical trade

This is a fantastic way to start a long-term career in the water industry. From this trainee role, there are real opportunities to move into supervisory roles, CCTV investigation, and more.

The team is collaborative, friendly, and professional - it's a supportive environment with room to grow. If you're someone who enjoys keeping things organised and running like clockwork, you'll fit right in.
