Traffic Signals Engineer
 
Are you an experienced traffic signals engineer looking for your next contract position? Carrington West are delighted to be assisting a client in their search for a traffic signals engineer to join their busy team based in Scotland on a remote working basis.   
 
The main responsibilities of the Traffic Signals Engineer:
·Commenting on traffic signal designs for other teams within the authority.
·Diagnosing traffic signal faults using scoot, UTC and Move.
·Modelling using Linsig
·Traffic signal design work
 
Key Skills of the Traffic Signals Engineer:
·Proficient in the use of basic MS Office applications.
·Ability to independently develop traffic signal control solutions to complex traffic problems.
·Possess a detailed knowledge of fixed time and SCOOT UTC database preparation and validation.  
·Able to develop and validate fixed time and SCOOT UTC traffic control plans.
·Able to isolate causes of traffic congestion on the UTC corridors and implement proactive/ reactive measures.
·Proficient in developing detailed designs using AutoCAD.
 
In addition to the above, the engagement with the following service duties will be expected to:
·Investigate & resolves complaints from elected members, the business community and members of the public.
·Engage within the daily fault management duty giving first line support to the maintenance contractor when required.
·Carry out effective monitoring and fine tuning of very complex traffic signal control installations.
