Town Planning Investigation Officers
East Midlands
£25p/hour +

My Local Authority client in the East Midlands, is seeking a two Town Planning Investigators (Enforcement) to assist the Town Planning Department on initial 6-month contracts.
 
Previous Town Planning Enforcement experience is not essential, but some form of experience in investigations would help.
 
In order to be successful in these roles you need to be available to attend the office and conduct site visits 2-3 times per week. The reaming time can be worked from home.
 
Main Duties and Responsibilities
1.Respond to, investigate and appraise suspected breaches of planning control.
2.Report to and liaise with the Planning Enforcement Manager and Principal/Senior Enforcement Officers to determine a suitable course of action on cases.
3.Resolve breaches of planning control (where possible) by negotiation, in accordance with Government advice and the Local Enforcement Plan.
4.Advise interested parties, including complainants, contraveners, Parish Councils, other departments of the Council, Councillors and MPs, of the progress of an investigation by written or verbal updates in accordance with the Council's Local Enforcement Plan.
5.Gather, formulate and produce formal evidence, in accordance with P.A.C.E. and R.I.PA.
6.Attend appeal, hearings, public inquiries and court proceedings as a professional witness.
7.Advise the public, planning officers, councillors and council officers and other external agencies in writing, by telephone, e-mail, in site and office meetings or in reception about general enforcement matters.
8.Monitor enforcement actions and performance according to service requirements and the specifications in the Council's Adopted Enforcement Policy.
9.To monitor developments in progress to ensure that it is in accordance with approved details including compliance with planning conditions.

They are ideally seeking a contractor on a full-time basis and offer flexible working, but part-time will be considered.
