Job description
Are you interested in working on a multi-billion-pound railway project?
Do you have substantial experience in systems integration?
Salary: circa £50,000 to £70,000 (flexible based on level of experience)
Manchester: 3 days per week in client office, remainder from home.
Responsibilities:
- Apply engineering controls and procedures to all projects so all design and construction contracts include reference to appropriate Railway Group and Network Rail Company standards applicable to their discipline.
- Apply relevant techniques and procedures of quantified and qualitative risk assessment and HAZOP analysis to all projects.
- Monitor all projects for compliance with rail standards and rail project control procedures.
- Monitor whether the design and construction elements meet the requirements of legislation, including construction design management (CDM) regulations.
- Undertake reviews of design and construction activities. Arrange audits of contractors to monitor whether safety and quality of design, construction testing and commissioning and management systems are adequate.
- Lead IDC/IDR design integration reviews.
- Produce PRAMS Plans & Report, and Maintenance Readiness Plans/Reports.
- Produce and review DRACAS reports.
Requirements:
- Significant experience in systems engineering disciplines, ideally with involvement in construction and design projects across multi discipline areas
- Understanding of PACE
- Technical qualifications to at least HNC level or equivalent
- Membership of a relevant professional institution
- Knowledge of structuring safety cases in support of projects
- Knowledge of safety management and quality assurance
- Understanding of the arrangements required for the independent assessment of works
- Accident investigation experience
Desirable
- Chartered status or equivalent in relevant discipline.
- DPE experience advantageous.
