Strategic Planning Manager
 
This London Borough are seeking an experienced Planning Manager to lead its Team for initially 6 months.
 
Overview of role:
 
 - To manage the Strategic Planning Team; including the areas of Strategic Planning/Planning Policy, Area based planning, Infrastructure Planning, and Monitoring
 - To oversee and manage the ambitious work programme for the team; assessing the resources required for delivery, allocating work, managing projects, identifying any shortfalls in terms of capability or capacity and presenting proposals if necessary to ensure delivery.
- To lead on the delivery and implementation of the Council's new borough-wide Local Plan (scheduled for adoption in Summer 2020) and the production of supporting supplementary planning guidance
 - To oversee and manage the delivery of area based strategic planning and delivery documents for the boroughs key growth areas including Area Action Plans, SPDs and masterplans.
 - Providing strategic oversight of the Council's infrastructure planning programme (CIL/ NCIL, S106, IDP update). Key criteria,
- High level technical knowledge and experience in producing planning policy documents as well as design guidance, gained from working within a local planning authority or equivalent private sector experience.
- Experience in leading and managing Planning Policy Teams and applying effective performance management techniques
- Experience of managing budgets and generating income.
- A relevant qualification in Town Planning and eligibility for membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).
 
Initially to the end of the year, this role has been deemed inside IR35 with pay rates upto £50/h we require someone who is available to start towards the beginning of July.
