Site Construction Supervisor - 25 months FTC - £45k per annum
Winfrith, Dorset
A unique opportunity to work on a first of a kind project as part of our client's site based team within the nuclear sector.
As Site Construction Supervisor you will have the responsibility for the supervision of construction/demolition works in accordance with company EHSQ arrangements.
The key focus of the role is to ensure the company's high EHSQ standards are maintained at all work fronts. The bulk of the working day will be out on site, working closely with the client's other supervision and work pack leads to ensure safe and timely delivery and installation of all subcontractor works which involve a high degree of oversight by the client, their customer and the Regulators.
The Role
·Working closely with the Area Construction Manager and on site Health and Safety Manager, you will promote a safe working environment for all personnel including visitors. You will ensure all rules and agreed RAMS are being followed completely, present site inductions, safety briefings and toolbox talks, managing any rules that are broken or standards dropped ensuring work is completed correctly or safely. You will assist in hazard identification and with regular inspections supporting, reporting and communicating H&S issues.
·Liaising with the cleint's other site management staff to ensure work detail requirements are fully understood you will promote adherence to the client's construction processes/procedures to support consistency and quality of all construction activities Identifying potential improvements with accurate Record keeping (deliveries, hours worked etc.)
·The work will involve supervision of activities including micro piling, steelwork install including existing slab reinforcing/propping, concrete cutting using diamond wire saws, concrete pouring, scaffolding with temporary works and steel flooring install.
·The site supervisor must have relevant experience in nuclear and construction sectors as well as H&S training, have a good understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental issues and experience of working in a highly regulated industry with a high degree of scrutiny. The individual should be able to pass basic government security clearance checks and/or have an up to date security clearance available. 
·You will have the ability to understand construction drawings and other construction documentation with a good understanding of EHSQ procedures typical of high profile construction environments using ISO procedures and/or best industry practice.
·With a positive attitude you will have the ability to motivate and if necessary challenge and enforce discipline in the workforce and excellent people skills. Familiar with continual improvement methodologies. 
·You must have significant, relevant construction and supervisory experience,  a supervisory certification, CSCS Card holder (or equivalent scheme) and a relevant engineering or construction qualification - such as HNC or NVQ3
 
Ideal Qualifications/Experience
·A relevant NEBOSH or similar EHSQ qualification.
·The requirement will have to understand a basic level of technical information would suit a candidate with HNC level of education or higher in a relevant subject.
·All CITB courses such as SMSTS, Temporary Works Co-ordinator, Lifting, Supervisory, Environmental (or NVQ equivalent) are advantageous.
·3-day First Aid and Fire Warden training.
