Senior HV Plant Engineer - Leeds
Permanent - Salary negotiable + Benefits package

Main duties:

Provide Leadership on the FEED and detail design work stream for National Grid.

Ensure adequate quality assurance and delivery of FEED, Detailed design and bids for NGET.

Ensure adequate resources and training of resources for the purposes of delivering FEED and detailed design work for National Grid.

Act as TP141/equivalent assurance engineer where required.

Review the HV plant aspects of different projects including HV layouts, earthing design and reports, mechanical interlocking, HV busbar calculations and technical specification for the HV plant equipment.

Coordination with back office engineers, sub-contractors and suppliers as required.

Proven record of ability to manage tender packages as tender manager and doing HV plant aspects of technical offers.

Ability to attend and chair the design review and Hazard review meetings and reviewing HV plant design packages as required.

Attending site visits, FAT and SAT as required.




Qualifications/experience required:

Experience in a leadership/management position in a similar environment.

Applicants must have the right to work in the UK.

TP141 or equivalent authorised or ability to do so.

Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering quivalent qualifications and experience.

Chartered Engineer through the IET.

Strong understanding and leadership of the engineering projects through asset lifecycles.

Track record of leading teams in the delivery of Front-End Engineering and design or Detailed design of EHV (132kV upwards) substation projects.

Experience of working for a client organisation such as transmission system owner/operator, distribution network operator or a design consultancy delivering to such organisation.

Experience in coaching and developing junior engineers.

Flexibility to travel to client sites when required.

Capability to work under tight deadlines while achieving objectives with the ability to deal with competing priorities and manage time appropriately.
