Are you a Senior Transport Planner looking for a new challenge?

Our client is an ambitious local authority who are seeking a Senior Transport Planner with experience in transport strategy and sustainability.
 
Your key responsibilities:
 
·To commission and carry out traffic, transport, kerbside and air quality studies including the collection, collation, analysis and reporting of data and findings.
·To manage individual scheme budgets up to £500k or several smaller schemes in the region of £150k and ensure all cost, scope, quality and time constraints are achieved.
·To supervise and manage the work of other officers in fulfilling the responsibilities of the Team.
·To prepare reports and to present those reports at Council meetings, Committees and SubCommittees of the Council as required. To act as a representative of the service on complex matters in council meetings, scrutiny committee and other public meetings and advise on council policies and technical matters related to the service.
·To input into the service and divisions business plan through forward planning the project pipeline and ensuring or supporting others to unlock relevant funding secured from developer contributions.
·To manage the divisions input into Planning and Transport Policies and to prepare developer and planning guidance, supplementary planning documents and specifications for the purpose of the Division.

What is required?

As the successful candidate, you will have experience of working in a local authority at a similar level and Transport Planning/Strategy background, preferably, within a local authority setting.
