Job description

A great opportunity has arisen for a Senior Transport Modeller to join a busy consultancy on a contract basis, offering flexible working between home and the office. This is a full-time role, but our client will also consider candidates who would prefer part-time work.
 
IR35 status to be confirmed and will be subject to an SDS.
 
You must have a proven record as a competent transport planning and traffic modelling specialist, with a strong track record in successful project deliverables. The capability to communicate material clearly, effectively and appropriately, with a good ability to manage your workload will be key.
 
Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:
 
·Experience in the use of SATURN and other modelling software, such as VISUM, CUBE, EMME2
·Assessing the transport effects and infrastructure requirements (access, car parking, bus stops, cycle parking, etc) of road schemes and new developments, to support scheme design and appraisal, planning applications or to inform local authority development plans
·Design, development and application of traffic models using SATURN, VISUM, VISSIM, CUBE or other software for transport scheme forecasting and appraisal
·Designing, managing, interpreting and presenting traffic and travel surveys
·Developing and applying traffic modelling and forecasting techniques
·Preparation of various reports and technical assessments
·Providing support to the transport planning team
·Strong understanding of the principles of traffic modelling, traffic surveys and traffic data analysis
·Experience in micro simulation models, such as VISSIM and Paramics
·Expertise in design of modelling studies, their management and reporting
·Familiarity with industry standard databases e.g. TRICS, TEMPRO etc
·Knowledge of GIS systems as a tool to manage, analysis and present geo-spatial data
