Are you an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor looking for your next role?
Do you have civil infrastructure and water sector experience?
My client, a main contractor working on a major Water Company framework, has an immediate opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to support clean water infrastructure projects across the Thames Valley. The initial focus includes pipeline replacement works in the Arborfield, Reading area, with further civils schemes to follow.
This role starts on a contract basis with a view to becoming permanent for the right person
Senior Quantity Surveyor
- Contract, 6 months, temp to permanent
- Covering the Thames Valley
- Day rate, £450 per day Umbrella
You will join the Commercial Team and be responsible for the administration of the commercial and financial aspects of the framework, working closely with delivery teams on live projects.
Responsibilities:
- Carrying out day to day administration of commercial and financial aspects of projects
- Preparing cost and value reports, CVRs, applications for payment and cost forecasts
- Managing procurement, labour, plant, materials and subcontract packages
- Subcontract management from terms, risk attribution and scope through to final account
- VOWD forecasting, demand forecasting and cost control
- Managing change through Early Warnings and Variations with the client and subcontractors
- Administering the principal contract, including elements of NEC and IChemE Burgundy Book
- Working closely with operational teams to support safe, efficient delivery
- Monitoring staff, materials, plant and other resources on site
- Analysing spending trends and developing strategies to realise cost savings
- Seeking opportunities to improve value and margin across work packages
Skills and knowledge:
- Degree, HND or equivalent in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or similar, or substantial relevant experience
- Experience in the water or utilities sector is advantageous
- Strong working knowledge of NEC, JCT experience beneficial, IChemE Burgundy Book exposure welcomed
- Proactive approach with the ability to anticipate and manage risk and opportunity
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Comfortable handling large data sets accurately and efficiently
- Full UK driving licence and ability to travel across the Thames Valley
