Highways Senior Quantity Surveyor - Shape the Future of a Major Highways Project in Guildford
You're an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor who wants to take a leading role on a significant highways scheme while working in a supportive environment that values your expertise. My client is a respected multi-disciplinary main contractor delivering high-profile civil engineering and highways projects across the UK. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will:
·Lead commercial activities on a major highways project based in the Guildford area
·Work closely with a Managing Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager
·Review and manage contract documents to safeguard commercial interests
·Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors
·Issue subcontract tender packages and carry out detailed tender evaluations
·Build and maintain strong supply chain relationships
·Manage subcontract accounts from procurement through to final account
·Prepare and submit client valuations and manage variation accounts
·Attend pre-contract, post-tender, internal and external commercial meetings
·Support cost management, risk mitigation and contract administration
·Prepare and assist with claims for variation works
·Ensure all commercial policies, legislation and best practice are followed
·Drive financial performance in line with business aims
To succeed in this Senior Quantity Surveyor role, you will bring:
·Experience managing your own project or multiple schemes
·Background in highways, civil engineering or infrastructure projects
·Strong customer service skills and a collaborative working style
·Solid construction and civils knowledge with enthusiasm and discipline
·Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel
