- Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor
- Contract Length: 18 months
- Location: Reading
- Pay Rate: £66.30 p/h Umbrella
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage cost and budget planning through the RIBA lifecycle in preparation for major construction procurement.
- Compile NEC forms of contract and other commercial documents for procurement.
- Develop contract cost models and performance management strategies, ensuring compliance with project briefs, timelines, budget estimates, and all relevant regulations.
- Own the commercial evaluation and negotiation of tenders, validating and benchmarking proposals to enhance value while maintaining required standards.
- Capture, record, and utilize cost data for future procurements, reporting into the Estimating Benchmarking database.
- Identify commercial opportunities and mitigate risks during the procurement phase for sound contract awards.
- Uphold high standards in environment, safety, health, security, and quality.
Essential Qualifications:
- Significant experience in complex major construction projects.
- Familiarity with public contract regulations.
- Background in Defence, Nuclear, Utilities, or related infrastructure environments.
- Chartered or working towards MRICS or similar qualification.
- Proven ability in cost and budget planning through the RIBA lifecycle.
- Capability to design contractor performance management and incentivisation approaches.
- Experience in commercial evaluation and negotiation of tenders to achieve value for money.
- Proficient in identifying commercial opportunities and managing risks during procurement
