Senior Project Manager - Infrastructure / Nuclear

  • Location: Bridgwater, Somerset- 4x Per Week
  • Contract Length: 24 months
  • Working Pattern: 4 days per week onsite 
  • Rates: £55 per hour

An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of a major infrastructure project. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards, within a highly regulated environment.
You will provide strategic leadership and governance, overseeing the full project lifecycle from planning and approvals through to delivery, while managing stakeholders, risks, programme performance and project teams.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the safe delivery of projects to agreed time, cost and quality targets.
  • Provide leadership, governance and strategic direction to project teams.
  • Establish and maintain programme baselines, including planning, risk, cost and change control processes.
  • Manage projects within a contractual framework, ensuring legal and contractual compliance alongside the Commercial Manager.
  • Identify and manage project risks, opportunities and interdependencies, implementing mitigation strategies where required.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships across internal teams, contractors and external partners.
  • Monitor and report project performance metrics including critical path analysis, milestones, CPI, SPI and EVA.
  • Lead CDM and health & safety activities, promoting a strong safety culture across project teams.
  • Oversee project governance, ensuring compliance with internal project management processes and procedures.
  • Support the Programme Manager with strategic delivery and deputise where required.

Essential Requirements

  • Degree qualified in a relevant discipline.
  • Professional Project Management qualification (e.g. APM PMQ or equivalent).
  • Proven experience delivering major multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects from concept to completion within a highly regulated environment.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Demonstrable experience managing programme, risk, cost and change control processes.

Desirable

  • Experience within nuclear, energy or other highly regulated sectors.
  • SMSTS, IOSH or equivalent Safety Leadership qualification.
  • Strong knowledge and experience implementing CDM regulations.
