A leading nuclear and defence sector consultancy is looking for a senior mechanical design engineer to join a globally known project on an contract basis.

• Job Role - Senior Mechanical Design Engineers
• Location - Remote/Hybrid
• Contract Length - 6 Months
• Pay Rate - Up to £70 hour (Inside IR35)

This is a great opportunity for a qualified and experienced senior mechanical design engineer to join the team at a crucial point in a fantastic massive project and work with some of the best names in the industry to deliver engineering designs and solutions.

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead engineering resource in the delivery of one or more technical design packages.
• Delivery of engineering solutions for large-scale packages of work.
• Undertake Design following relevant design standards and codes, and to high-quality levels.
• Production of all technical deliverables
• Preparation of briefs, scopes of work, and develop fee/bid proposals.
• Management of internal design resource in producing elements of the design.
• Review and verification of design practices and technical solutions as part of a wider team.
• Attendance at internal and external co-ordination, progress, and design review meetings.

Requirements:

• Dockyard or MOD design experience preferred.
• Appropriate qualification in Building Services or Mechanical Engineering.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Proficiency using technical software, drawing and calculation packages.
• Achieved or working towards professional registration (CEng, MCIBSE, or equivalent qualification).
